Taking place after the events of the 2014 film Nightcrawler, DEADLINE drops you into the broadcast battleground of Los Angeles, where Lou Bloom's viral news empire has turned murder into media and every siren into a job opportunity. Play as freelance stringers racing to film the city's worst moments and sell them to the highest bidder.
Using a d6 dice pool system inspired by Lady Blackbird, DEADLINE emphasizes greed, ambition, and escalation. Stack dice from your Stats, Gear, or Vice, but risk Heat or Burnout. Fame and fortune are possible. Survival is not guaranteed.
Written for the 2025 One Page RPG Jam. The front side includes character creation and core rules; the back provides tools for GMs to generate scenes and facilitate longer campaigns.
Collected in Tiny Tome 3 along with 49 other single-page RPGs. Funded on Kickstarter in under 2 hours!
